Our story

A comer — come and eat.

Azotea means rooftop. It is the place in a Mexican house where the family ends up: laundry drying, somebody cooking, everybody talking. That is the feeling we cook for.

Our kitchen takes its lead from Guerrero, on Mexico's Pacific coast — the home of green pozole, chiles rellenos, and a way of cooking built on chiles, corn and time. Then we let a little of the American South in: grits, biscuits, the habit of feeding people too much.

Breakfast runs into brunch, brunch runs into lunch, and there are traditional pastries in between. We open at eight and the kitchen closes at two, six days a week. Sit inside, or out on the patio when the weather is kind. Come hungry.
